Sterling Silver Native Hand Made Boulder Turquoise Set

Boulder Turquoise is comprised of Jasper surrounding ribbons of Turquoise making it unusual to find this dense hard stone. It has such great coloring on it's own with shades of Teal running through rich brown boulders.

The Boulder Turquoise Mine is located in northeast Nevada. It was discovered by a Shoshone sheep herder. Production is small due to the remote location and winter weather. Boulder Turquoise is identified by the style of distinctive turquoise veins that run through boulder stones.

Boulder Turquoise or Ribbon Turquoise is simply when a stone cutter takes natural Vein Turquoise (Turquoise in its natural host rock) and cuts in the direction to create the vein going through the rock like a ribbon or splotches of turquoise in the host rock like a Boulder Opal.
